Picked up the car no problem, but wasn't till we got to our hotel that it became apparent that we had not been given a fob to open/close the car. My wife got in touch with Alamo over the internet and was told to go to the nearest Alamo car rental office and they would sort the problem for us. I drove to the Shearton Four Points Hotel (closest Alamo office) and explained our problem, only to be told they couldn't help me and I would have to take the car back to the airport. Well, I have saved hard for a holiday which lasts only 14 days, I've already drove out of my way at my expense and then been told to drive all the way back to the airport at my cost (fuel and tolls) to sort something which was Alamo's making. So not having a fob, you might think is not much of a problem, it was as every time I opened the car the alarm would go off and thankfully I was quick every time and got the key in and started the engine within four loud blasts of the alarm horn. This stopped the noise, but if I'd been any slower I don't know what I would have done. Silly English man really as I soldered on, but should have made a stance and demanded a car be brought to my hotel. Another view is, should a caring company have made plans to get a car with a fob to me for the next morning, yes I think so. When I got to the airport to return the car I also made sure I spoke to the woman at the returns kiosk to tell her the problem I had and that I had not lost the fob and do not expect to be charged in anyway. She said the person who had it before me probably lost it and I was unlucky. Not a happy customer Alamo.

Excellent experience all round. We used the Alamo automated kiosk and the system worked flawlessly. There were no problems collecting the car. All the advice leading up to the rental was accurate. I had an inquiry about adding a driver to the policy after the initial pick up date and that went without a problem. The car itself was perfect. Very good trim level and one of the latest models of Tahoe. I will definitely be using US Car Hire again on any future visits to the states and will also be recommending family and friends to use your business.

Very clear and easy to book, email updates, option for deposit first and pay balance later. Pick-up office in San Francisco was busy but efficient, and got an upgrade at no cost. Extremely efficient drop-off service at LA airport, although charged for being 25 minutes late.

We have for a number of years now booked a vehicle through US Car Hire and Alamo and have not been dis- appointed. The process has been quick to book and on collecting and dropping off the vehicle the staff involved have been very courteous and helpful. We will continue next year to use US Car Hire and Alamo.

Excellent - everything went smoothly, including use of the Alamo Express Kiosk at Miami. Only criticism is that there were no cars to choose from at Miami and the one I had was very dirty when I collected it. However usual great service from US Car Hire - why go elsewhere!

Completely hassle free experience. Fantastic value for money. There was a huge queue at rental desk so we used kiosk which was so quick and easy.

My experience with this particular rental was extremely bad. I was quoted a price of 460.74 and ended up paying over 700 dollars to my surprise! The car rental company informed me that no payment was made to them even when I showed them my printed voucher! If this is the kind of service I am going to get I will not be using your site anymore! I would consider using this site if I am reimbursed the 240$ extra that I was charged!!!!!!

at the desk they tried to give us an upgrade and didn't clearly tell us there would be a cost, felt pushed into this and we had to give a reason why we didn't what to pay more.
