there needs to be more clarity on the fastrack process. We went through the whole kiosk process (even though we had registered for Alamos Fastrack process) only for it to fail after all the details had been put in (as instructed by US car hire) an then to be told by the desk we could have gone straight to the cars in the garage.

The process etc was all very easy and smooth as usual. The reason I have not scored 5 was the rear of the car was a mess - someone had obviously spilt drink/food on the rear door/carpets and it was not cleaned properly. This is an issue with National/Alamo which you have little control over on the day.

The US Carhire website experience was great, but Alamo themselves were scandalous. We registered for Alamo "Save Time" to avoid their "upselling" tactics. A bit of confusion as we asked a Alamo guy at the airport if we needed to see anyone or go across to the car lot as we'd already entered details online. He lied and said we must go to the desk to sign a form. (which we later found out we didn't). The upselling he the tried was:- Although there were only 2 of us and we had a 7 seater SUV, he said it wouldn't be big enough.(lol, how?) We pre-purchased uscar hire roadside assistance. He said that was rubbish and advised getting alamo's equivalent. (we declined) He tried hiring us a gps, but the vehicle had one built in as standard (and we had out own as well)! (we declined) And he lied about needing to sign a form, that was just a farce. We could have just walked across to the car lot and collected a car without speaking to him at all and wasting 10 mins. He just wanted to try and up-sell to get commission and couldn't care less about us at all. All in all, Alamo pro-actively seek to screw over tourists at Orlando Airport.

Great first experience of hiring a car in Florida. US Car Hire website was very user friendly and we managed to get the best price for the car we wanted through Alamo. Picking the car up at the airport was quick and easy and within a short time we were cruising down the I-4 to our destination. The staff at the airport were very helpful. Dropping the car back off was very straight forward and by the time our luggage was out a member of the Alamo team had given us a receipt and the all clear to go. Would recommend both US Car Hire and Alamo and will look to use them both again in the future. Billy Glasgow, Scotland.

The experience of using US Car hire was a positive and efficient one and I have no complaints. Alamo was the provider of the vehicle which again was as requested. A minor issue was that I had to wait for Alamo to fill the fuel tank as this was what I paid for. Another issue was the poor quality of the GPS unit (Garmin) as the screen was mal-aligned to the letters making it difficult to input destinations. This also was the responsibility of Alamo and not US Car Hire. Overall with these exceptions the whole process went smoothly. The vehicle made our experience of driving many miles a good one.

We always book with US car hire. We find the prices competitive and the site is very simple to use. We tend to pick Alamo because of the price and we haven't had a bad car yet. You do have to be aware that, because of their prices, they tend to have the biggest queues at the aiport!

We were put under pressure to upgrade at an additional cost. We were told the vehicle we had selected would not be big enough for 5 people plus our suitcases. We double checked our order and held our ground and all was fine. Not good service after a long flight However the vehicle was a pleasure to drive and be driven in and price compares well to other companies.
