It was a very pleasant experience renting with USCar Hire, the car was a new one and it was perfect. Everything was good but when I've chosen my car, a Standard SUV from Silver plan (US$ 722.00), the next window of the website asked me to decide about the special protection for road assistance, broken windows, flat tyre, etc... And I have decided by accpeting these extra protections by marking the box at an extra cost of US$ 34.00 (closely)right away or if I am going to hire this extra protection later (at the desk) I would pay much more (About US$ 100.00)for it. So far so good, but unfortunately, by the time I was to check in, the attendent told me that I had not hired the road assistance and I'd better to hire it at the desk to avoid future problems. So, I had to say okay and pay much more than I was supposed to for this service. In fact I don't even know the total amount of my bill yet.

Use of website, ease of booking, price and everything else to do with US Car Hire a definite 5 star experience. Gave only 4 stars overall due to poor availability of Alamo cars to chose from at the airport (as compared to normal)- but in fairness, I suppose it was a peak period!

The agent constantly badgered us to have a better car despite our saying we were happy with what we ordered but he went on and on. Everything he offered us was, according to him, better than what we had ordered and we should have what he was offering. After a long flight we really did not need it. The car hire companies obviously incentivise the people on the desk to sell upgrades and insurance you do not need and this results in a lot of dishonesty in that they put things on your bill that you did not ask for and said no to.I have been visiting Florida for many years and I still get caught, the last time it cost me £90. Check everything thoroughly before you leave the desk otherwise the first you will know about any extra charge they have added is when you get your credit card receipt on returning the car or your statement. It really is disgusting how dishonest some of these peolple can be to get that kickback from the transaction. By the way you cannot use the "kiosk" checkout unless you have the new licence I am going to get one so I do not have to talk to an agent, what a relief that will be! By the way the car was very good, brand new, so the agent even tried to mislead about this, telling us that vehicles in the class we chose was not good because they were Japanese we in fact had an Equinox which is in fact a Chevrolet. What an advert for any company! US Car Hire,however, were very good its a shame they are not hireing the cars direct to the end user, we would get far better service!

Even without the car caught my interest, just getting a great car, a Nissan Murano, loved the experience, great car. The UScarhire was perfect, everything proceeded accordingly. I recommend.

US Car Hire is superb I cannot speak high enough about their service. My gripe is the extra charged by the hire companies for the "full tank of gas" after the rental! Second gripe is there is no instructions on the cars - the murano I hired appeared to have a boot that would not lock but I think it is because the key had a proximity security device?? Also there were bits missing like the parcle shelf and a bung in the front bumper - shelf was important to cover up our belongings so I was dissapointed with Alamo quality of cars. I've been renting cars through US Car hire since 2009 and I never had a single complain, but this time unfortunately Our flight had a late departure, what made us miss our conection to San Francisco and that delayed our arrival more than 36 hours, and for my surprise after checking at Alamo's counter in SFO we had to wait almost 1/2 hour. Finally they appear with a SUV that at that time of the day (arround 11 pm of december 22nd) and after so many hours of flight I accepted but as imagine the car was way smaller than the Equinox (or equivalent) that I'm used to rent and that I paid for, and that's why I'm complaining.

I really liked the vehicle's condition. The only situation that worries me is that they give back to the truck when the spare key, however, this was mailed to the address of Alamo. I guess that is why I have made ??my card discounts: first $ 139 and then a little more than $ 10. I would like to receive the statement or reason for these discounts. thanksf

Automatic machines not working correctly. Spent about 10 minutes going through the system to only to be told thatthere was an error and ask for assistance. I wasn't the only person that had done this. Fortunately my wife had joined the queue otherwise we would have had quite a wait. I drive an SUV in the UK and told the guy on the desk that I didn't require an upgrade. I don't think he was very happy and he then started talking in Spanish to his colleague which I though was rather rude. This is the 6th time that I have used Alamo in the US and have always found the staff to be polite even when I've politely refused an upgrade. I will be considering my options on my next visit.
