Deck the Halls at Celebration - part 2 - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Disney General
The young skaters have to observe the rules that are printed on the side of the chalet and these are strictly enforced. Skates are provided to fit each child and they must be returned to the chalet at the end of the skating session.
Alongside the chalet is a shop that always seems very busy as it sells all types of clothing including many different coloured tee shirts each with the Celebration logo on, these are obviously suitable for many different celebratory events.
All the lampposts have the “Deck the Halls” banners on as well as Christmas decorations and baubles. At the top of each lamppost you will see little houses and it is in these that the mechanisms for making the nightly snowfall are kept. Snowfalls take place hourly every evening for about four sessions. Be sure to arrive early though to ensure you can get parked before going to the snowfall. Children love this and many a parent can be seen sitting outside the wine bar with a drink either hot or cold while the children play. If the children just want something quick and easy to eat after the snow there is a shop selling pizzas with a seating area outside which is very popular during the snowy evenings.
There is a spectacular Christmas tree down by the lake with giant presents underneath and a small stage alongside it. Just below this are the very popular rocking chairs where visitors sit and relax at all times of the day. To the left of the Christmas tree there is a beautiful life like nativity scene.
Most days the road in this area is closed off mid- afternoon in preparation for the evening events and parking restrictions are strictly enforced.
There is a magical little train that rides around Celebration during the festivities you pay for your tickets at the small booth nearby. If you prefer more sophistication you can ride in the open topped coach pulled by the horses. This is always on our “To Do” list but as yet we have yet to go in it, I believe it may take you around some of the decorated houses.
If you go to the house with the snow on the roof you can see Santa Claus and even have your photo taken. On specific evening pets are allowed to have their photos taken and you see many little dogs all dressed up some even travelling in their own buggies!
If you are in Orlando at this time of year do try to go to Celebration it really is magical.
