Disney Character Meet and Greet – part 1
When our girls were little one of the main attractions of visiting the Disney theme parks involved meeting the Disney characters. They just loved to hug them, have their photographs taken with them and have their autograph books signed. The number of hours we have stood in line, waiting to meet Mickey and Minnie, over the years are too numerous to count but the one thing that I will always remember is the look on their little faces as their favourite characters interacted with them.
Our youngest daughter’s favourite character has always been Pluto. She would carry her own Pluto soft toy around the parks, wearing her Pluto ears and her Pluto t-shirt. Without realising, this was indeed a very good move on her part because as soon as Pluto saw her, he would always make a fuss of her. Letting her squeeze his nose, taking her soft toy and sitting it on his large nose. One time he even took hold of her hand and they went for a little stroll along one of the boulevards in Hollywood Studios. It made her day and one that she has never forgotten.
Still, Disney is the place where dreams come true and all is good in the world and if you can’t have a little escapism here, I really do not know where else you could!
Anyway, the purpose of this and my next two articles is to give you a few tips on finding the characters and where they will be appearing and they best way to make sure your little ones get their autographs. Of course, there will be those of you who would prefer not to spend time hunting down the characters and would rather just run into them as you wander around the parks. This is absolutely fine, but for those of you with children who like to go home with a keepsake of their favourite character’s autographs, I hope this will be of some help to you.
Always pick up a
Time Guide as you enter any of the Disney parks. These will provide you with the times and locations of all the character meet and greets.
Check the
Character Location Guide. Magic Kingdom has a main tip board on Main Street. This will let you know what characters will be appearing at each location.
