Breakfast at Chef Mickeys - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Dining

This morning we had an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) booked at Chef Mickey’s for breakfast. It was a nice early start for us leaving the villa at 8. 15am remembering to take the camera with us to capture those special moments with the Disney characters.

Chef Mickey’s is located at Disney’s Contemporary Resort and we were soon parked up and heading inside the hotel. There was a short queue and we were given a pager and pointed towards an area where you could have your photo taken and also look out across Seven Seas Lagoon. Shortly afterwards our pager started to buzz and we were shown to our table.

The restaurant was busy but there seemed to be lots of character interactions happening. Breakfast here is an all you can eat buffet, which meant that all 4 people in our party should be able to find something they liked.

Our server soon came to our table and took our drinks order 2 x coffee’s and 2 x tea’s together with orange juice all round. He pointed us in the direction of the various food stations and we were soon heading towards them.

The boys started with breakfast cereal whilst us girls opted for fruit, melon, strawberries and bananas. Our son loved the fact that he could have fruit loops and doughnuts for breakfast together with lots of sugary toppings. Then it was on to the unhealthy part of the breakfast menu; bacon, eggs, sausages, omelettes, breakfast pizza and of course the Mickey shaped waffles with maple syrup.

We had all just sat down when the characters started to come round to our table. Firstly there was the man himself ‘Mickey Mouse’ dressed as a chef, then Donald, Goofy and finally Minnie who just loved our son and the photos were fantastic.

There was also plenty of music and napkin waving going on and it is hard not to get involved and young and old seemed to be enjoying themselves.

The food was plentiful and hot, nobody minded how many times you went up to the various food stations and our server kept the coffee cups and juice glasses topped up throughout the meal.

The cost is $26 per adult and $14 per child and whilst you will probably get similar offerings at many other restaurants the atmosphere and character interaction is second to none and worth paying for.

Chef Mickey’s is a very popular dining experience and you should book this up as soon as possible by using the ADR system (either on-line or by telephone).

To summarise Chef Mickey’s is great fun, great breakfast food selection and overall a great experience.
