The food in America is everything you could wish for. The portions however are absolutely enormous, most of the time a child’s portion is as big as we would serve an adult so always remember that when ordering at take a-ways.
The good thing about ordering in America is at least the menus are understandable being in English (well most unless you visit a Chinese Restaurant! )
I have never seen such varied menus and styles of eating so you can’t fail to find something top please everyone.
Firstly there are the buffet style restaurants which offer “ all you can eat “ buffets, these are for breakfast, lunch and dinner, great value and especially good if you have children with you, at least they can pick exactly what they want and waste is minimal!
Then there are the take a-ways, more choice than you can begin to imagine, for Burgers there is McDonald, Burger King, Wendy’s, Freddie Fudrucker and Johnny Rockets, for Chicken there is Popeye, Chic-a –fillet, Bistro Bistro, there is Chinese, Indian, Tai, and probably more I haven’t mentioned.
The buffet style restaurant choices are Ponderosa, Sizzlers, Golden Coral, Shoney’s and also some Chinese also do this.
Of the dine in Restaurants there are many favourites, I hardly know where to start, Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, Applebee’s, Outback, Sonny’s, Denny’s, Perkins, Bob Evans, Olive Garden, Longhorns, Charlie’s steak house, The butchers shop, Manny’s chop house, Logan’s, Tony Roma’s, the list just goes on and on. In fact you could eat at a different place for weeks and still not do them all. Still that’s a good reason for going back ! !
They are all someone’s favourite and each one has different things that people like, some have little oddities, like the peanuts on the floor at Logan’s, the unique shop at Cracker Barrel, the McDonalds, said to be the biggest in the world, Sizzlers that has the most items on their salad bar, you chose your lobster at the Red Lobster.
Last but not least there is the dinner shows, numerous of those too, Medieval nights, Arabian nights, Dolly Parton’s Dixie stampede, Sleuths, The pirates dinner show, Cirque du soliel and some new ones that have opened recently like Tony and Tina’s wedding! Good fun and an entertaining way to enjoy a meal !
But if you only want a snack all is not lost, try, Subway, Dunkin Donuts, Krispie Kream, Cheesecake factory, or even the Deli in the supermarkets.
Wow ! ! after all that I’m hungry …………now where shall I go ? ?
