Day 3
After a magical and very long day at the Magic kingdom yesterday we decided to do something more relaxing……a water park. Typhoon Lagoon was chose and we got our swimwear and sun cream and set off to the park. It was a lovely sunny day, as always, and after renting a locker we got ready for some fun!
Typhoon Lagoon is designed as a tropical playground, with lots of water rides to keep the energetic amused, and plenty of sun loungers on the sandy white beach of the wave pool, or under the swaying palm trees if you just want to relax, this is great for the grandparents!
Our first ride was on Gangplank falls, a family white water raft ride, its great fun!
Next we take a huge rubber ring each and float around the castaway creek lazy river ride…. this is fun as it takes you around the park and we exit at Shark reef to see the fish. We put on our snorkel gear and slowly go across the shark /fish pool , observing the fish closely as we slowly move along to the other side and exit, WOW, that was amazing! For those who don’t want to swim with the fish there is an underwater viewing area in an old shipwrecked tanker.
Next we make our way to Crush’n’Gusher, a new intense water coaster. You can ride in 2 or 3 sitting on an inflatable tube…. . boy is this fast! Amazing, you slash down into the pool at the end feeling amazing! We had to do this again!
I decided againt Humunga Kowabunga, triple 214ft enclosed speed slide, so just sat and watched the others as they came to the bottom…. the look on their faces was awesome!
Time for lunch, a quick snack of wraps and a drink, and then lie on the sandy white beach to let our lunch settle. Then, the horn sounds and “Surfs up” over the loudspeakers, starts the waves in the lagoon crashing and rolling to the shore.
The girls wanted to ride the storm slides, but not for me so I wandered over to the pearl factory to admire the pearls. They had some lovely jewellery and you could open an oyster and get a pearl!
A few more slides and another float around the creek and we were ready to shower and dry.
We called at the “Olive garden” for a lovely Italian meal before driving back to the villa. The girls were tired, so to bed for them, and my daughter and I relaxed with a glass of something long and cold, planning what we might do the next day,
Another fantastic day……more tomorrow.
