My Florida holiday diary.
Day1.
We arrived at Orlando airport after a long but enjoyable (I love travelling) flight from England in the UK, but the bright Florida sunshine was making us feel wide awake. We rode on the monorail in the airport to go to collect our baggage, and then our rental car, this was the start our fun filled girly holiday (we left the men at home as they had to work)
We called in at the local Sweetbay supermarket for some provisions to keep us going until the next day, We bought drinks, tea, coffee, a bottle of bubbly, some lovely fresh salad, freshly baked bread and meats for supper and bacon, eggs, fruit and cereal and milk for breakfast. Oh…and of course, ice cream!
We arrived at the villa and it was so exciting to bring all our luggage into our rooms and get ourselves settled after a long day. The girls chose which bedroom they wanted to sleep in, Katy chose the princess room, and her sister Daisy chose the queen bedroom. My daughter and I had a master suite each……it feels so good to be back in my “other” home.
The children were excited so we decided to have take time out after a long day and relax in the spa to make them feel sleepy, before having a bit of supper, and getting the girls to bed. It didn’t take them long to get to sleep, they were probably dreaming of the Magic Kingdom and the fun that we would all have!
Then my daughter and I have a lovely glass of bubbly to celebrate being back “home” at our villa, and made a plan of what we would do the next day. When the day was planned we decided to get some sleep, as we knew the girls would be up bright and early and ready for fun the next morning as they would still be in UK time zone.
I was still buzzing with excitement when I went to bed, thinking about the quality time I would spend with my Daughter and my Two lovely Granddaughters. It would be made even more special as my daughter and one of my Granddaughters would be having a birthday during our holiday.
I lay for a while in my huge bed in the dark, listening to the relaxing sounds of the nature in the conservation area close by, and then slowly drifted into a deep and contented sleep…….
