Visiting the Parks Part 2 - Orlando / Florida Guide

Florida Guide > Days Out

If you are visiting the Disney Parks the Disney transportation is a great way to get around during the day. We tend to park in the park we are all going to meet up at the end of the day and jump on the buses near the parks entrances to wherever we want to go. By doing this it means we can spilt up and all do the Parks we want to go to rather than going around it a large group with some of the family having to go to Parks they are not so interested in.

Often on one of Park days Dad does not come to the Park (we leave him doing the DIY in the villa! ! ) so we just tell the car park kiosk attendant that he is dropping us off and they let you through and direct you to the front of the entrance as opposed to the parking areas. Similarly when he picks us up he is just guided to the pick up area without paying.

At times we go in a group if we all want to visit the same parks. When we do this we always keep spare set of clothes in the car. This means if it is very hot the younger ones can run through the water areas before we leave a Park to cool down and they have dry clothes to change into. We also always keep swim wear and towels in the car in case we change our plans at any time and want to go to a Water Park.

Water Parks tend to be very busy early in the morning but many people leave mid afternoon to get ready to go to a Theme Park during the evening. Aquatica Water Park tends to open quite late in the hot summer months and is a lovely park to go to in the evening as it is quieter and is all illuminated. We got great value a couple of years ago by buying 14 unlimited access to Seaworld and Aquatica tickets, I think the girls went to Aquatica 9 times! On the majority of their visits we just dropped them off so we did not even have to pay for car parking. They took dry clothes with them so when we picked them up we were all ready for dinner so could dine nearby. There was a good selection of restaurants as we could either go to the Crossroads complex with several choices or to the entrance to Premium Outlets off the I4 and eat at Carrabas or Bahama Breeze.

Before we have gone to the Parks we have looked through the current literature for the Park and decided which rides we want to go on and have worked a rough timetable out. More of this in the guide Visiting the Parks part 3.
