Eleven at Reunion Resort - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Dining
If you are celebrating a special event, or just enjoy a special meal out, Eleven at Reunion Resort at junction 58 off the I4 is certainly the place to go.
I was spending a week in Orlando with a group of girls to celebrate a milestone birthday and thought this restaurant sounded special.
To complete the experience, we had hired a super stretch limo to take and collect us.
We all dressed up for the evening, although, smart/casual is the expected dress code. Our limo arrived in plenty of time and the mad photo session started with nine sets of flashlights going off, we all felt like stars that night!
We set off with the essential glass of champagne in hand, just because we could and we thought we had better make use of the built in ice bucket! Our arrival at the magnificent hotel entrance was yet another photo opportunity.
We took the lift to the eleventh floor and as we turned the corner towards the restaurant we saw the wonderful view across the patio and beyond. Another photo opportunity here I might add! There is a swimming pool and sofa style seats around a built in fire and TV up here. At just eleven storeys high you wouldn’t expect such views, but most of this area is ‘low rise’ so you can see for miles. With the sun slowly sinking, the colours in the sky were beautiful.
Taking our seats we were given some crispy ‘bread’ infused with pepper while we choose from the menu. Opting for a sample platter for starters of what they describe as an Asian inspired small plate menu, we were pleasantly surprised by the flavour of everything we tried. Unlike many American restaurants, the quantity was just right: Enough to whet your appetite but not enough to fill you up. The main courses were also beautifully presented, of European size and heaven to eat. To finish off we choose the sweet sample menu which arrived in a selection of shot sized glasses, giving us several tastes of sweetness!
By now it was almost 10pm, so we went to the patio to watch the Disney firework display on the horizon. Returning to our seats, the birthday girl was presented with another sweet, complete with candle to blow out. At this point I should say that the staff all evening had been very attentive, chatty and friendly, asking about our special occasion and yet almost invisible. We didn’t have to ask for anything, it was always there. I cannot fault them in any way.
With plenty of wine, the cost was around $75 per person, so sadly not somewhere I will dine every evening of future holidays, but I will be going back!
