Bahama Breeze after Orlando Premium Outlets - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Dining
If you find yourself feeling hungry and you are near to Orlando Premium Outlets (just off the I4) take a visit to Bahama Breeze.
The tasty Caribbean cuisine (although all the usual steaks and burgers are served here) makes this restaurant group different from many found in Central Florida. Here a happy lively atmosphere greets you, whilst the building structure simulates those found in the Bahamas and Caribbean Islands. White wooden structures with wooden steps up to balconies around the building exist to walk around – ideal for taking a pre-dinner drink from the outside bar where the ambiance is enhanced when the steel drums and a singer perform live.
Inside the restaurant the atmosphere is pleasant with a décor of natural wood tones, large ceiling fans and lush tropical plantation. The service is cheerful and attentive. Our last visit was at a busy time on a Saturday evening so while we waited for our table, we enjoyed some coconut coated onion rings served with a chilli horseradish dip and warm tortilla chips – these alone were very tasty and filling but they went down very nicely with our cocktails. These have names like Bahamarite commonly known as a Margarita. A favourite is Painkiller – rum, pineapple juice, cream of coconut and orange juice shaken and served with a sprinkling of nutmeg. However, non-alcoholic cocktails are available as well.
The lighter lunch time menu has delicious dishes such as vine ripened tomatoes and basil sauce served on flat breads with melted mozzarella cheese and parmesan shavings sprinkled over, crab claws, coconut shrimp, West Indian patties, Creole baked goat’s cheese, soups, salads and sandwiches. There is even a separate fish menu, for example tilapia or salmon wood grilled or sautéed with your own choice of sauce, a chef’s special.
The dinner menu offers this and more with added dishes and flavours to tempt you. Children are welcomed and they too have their own menu – for example, crispy chicken, koolers (apple, mango, raspberry and berries) and shakes. Drinks for adults are the usual wines, beers, soda and juices as well as coffee and tea.
We hardly ever manage to finish all our food as there is so much in such large portions but we were asked even before we requested them, if we would like boxes to take home the left-overs. We never need to be asked twice as the food is so delicious we wouldn’t want to waste any. It is always advisable to book a table, especially during peak holiday season or at weekends, although to be honest, if you don’t book it is nice just to relax and chill out in the bar and drink cocktails until the table is ready.
This is a very special restaurant – ideal for a special occasion.
