When to go to Orlando - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Hints and Tips
We have been to our villa in every month of the year and are often asked when the best time to go is. I know many guests are restricted to school holidays but thought I would just give an overview.
January - If you are there immediately after Christmas you can take advantage of the end of season shows at the Parks and the January Sales although the parks are usually quite busy until about 3rd January.
If you decide to travel after the first week of the month the air fares from the UK may be cheaper and of course the Parks are much quieter.
We have been in January when the day temperatures are on the mid 70s but have also seen frost at night.
February - UK half term falls towards the end of the month which can see a rise in air fares and the Parks are busier. The weather is starting to get warmer although the evenings are still cool.
March - Sometimes this includes Easter and schools in the US have Spring Break holiday and they all seem to come to Florida! The Parks and coastal resorts are busy but become even more so when Spring Break and Easter coincide. At Easter you will find special celebrations and Easter egg hunts.
April - Again if Easter is in April the UK air fares will be more expensive and the Parks busy. This is a lovely time to go though as the weather is 70/80 in the day and temperatures usually do not fall too much in the evenings.
May – One of our favourite months, lovely weather without too much humidity, some good priced flights from the UK can be got early in the month.
June – Hot and now getting humid this is the month you really start to enjoy getting into a cool pool at the villa. US schools and I think some Irish schools start their summer holiday.
July/August – Hot and humid but often with a short afternoon downpour which is very welcome. If you are at the Water Parks early afternoon and the rain comes it really is worth staying. You are wet anyway and often the Park nearly empties and you can have a great time.
September –Officially Hurricane season but we have had some great holidays in September. The temperatures are still good and the humidity is decreasing and you are not so prone to the afternoon showers. Some good UK air fare bargains usually to be had.
October – Lovely month and Halloween as well. If you are there be sure to go to Mickey’s Not So Scary Christmas Party, we have still been out in T shirts and shorts there at midnight. Lots of dressing up and Trick nTreating.
November - Our favourite month beautiful weather not too busy and the decorations for Thanksgiving beginning to go up. Unfortunately we have yet to be there for Thanksgiving maybe next year…….
December – Even if you go early in the Month all the Christmas decorations will be up and the Christmas shows will be on. Be sure to go to Celebration for their Snowing Nightly and let the children enjoy the snow.
Hope all this helps, whenever you go to Orlando you will have a fabulous time.
