Sunset Ridge
Sunset Ridge is a small gated community about ½ mile South of the intersection of the I-4 and the US 27. The community cannot be seen from the US27 so the conveniently located Outpost 27 Tourist Information Centre, with its distinctive green roof is a great landmark!
The approach road is lined with a white wooden fence and orange groves right up to the landscaped entrance. The wrought iron gates open onto the community. It is mostly one storey homes on Sunset Ridge with a sprinkling of two storey houses. They are all colourfully painted and you will never see two the same colour next to each other. The gardens are all landscaped and have a selection of palms or American Oak trees with beautiful shrubs and bushes adding an extra splash of colour. The selection of American cars on the drives as you travel through the development is also something to watch out for! The holiday homes all have private pools; some even have spas and hot tubs too, and they all have a lanai area for some shade from the hot Florida sun.
The community is well placed for visiting all the Florida theme parks. It takes a few minutes to get onto the I-4 and then just a few miles up, the exit for Disney World is clearly signed. Seaworld and Universal are a bit further away but again they are all clearly sign posted, it is just 25 minutes to Universal from Sunset Ridge.
With the I-4 just ‘on the doorstep’ a trip to the beach or Kennedy Space Centre is only an hour away – travel east and you will find the Atlantic Coast, Cocoa Beach, and Kennedy Space Centre. Travel west and you will come to Tampa, home of Busch Gardens, only 50 minutes away. Clearwater Beach and Treasure Island, with it miles of white sandy coastline, are a little bit further.
Opposite Sunset Ridge is Posner Park – an exciting new retail centre with an ever growing abundance of shopping opportunities! Target, JC Penney, Michaels, Ross, Belz and Dollar Store are just some of those that are already open. Crispers and Subway are among the food outlets. Also, just a couple of hundred yards from the entrance to the community there is an English Pub! ! English football, cricket and rugby are screened through the season, so no need to miss that ‘must see’ match! And with a few restaurants also to choose from, the area has plenty to offer.
Golf courses are within an easy five minute drive from Sunset Ridge. The community is centrally located between Champions Gate, Ridgewood Lakes and Southern Dunes. They are all open to the public for a round of golf on their award winning courses.
A Publix supermarket is just a few minutes drive away and Walmart at Haines City is just 5 minutes away.
Sunset Ridge really is within easy reach of something for everyone.
