Below the gleaming towers of thrusting Singapore, you can find a delicious South East Asian cultural mixing pot with what most people agree is a world beating airport
When you arrive at Singapore you can see that efficiency is the norm. Some say Singapore is too clinical but you just have to look around to find a city that is rich in local culture and pioneering history. Since Sir Stamford Raffles founded his colony here in 1819, this jungle island, which is not quite twice the size of the Isle of Wight, has become one of the dominating forces in regional trade. Chinese, Indians and Malays settled in quarters that, while more polished than those in the old homelands, still throb with timeless culture. As your plane banks over the city you see the renovated waterfront along the Singapore River and the gleaming towers on Marina Bay Sands. But there are still many nooks that boast of Singapore' s heritage as one of the region' s most vital trading ports and cultural melting pots.
Its unfortunate delays are so rare at Changi Airport as this is perhaps the only airport in the world you’d choose to be stuck at. It’s no surprise that it has been voted Top Worldwide Airport many times. Changi’s three terminals are linked by a Skytrain. While you’re airside you have access to five themed gardens, art and cultural exhibitions, a rooftop pool, gyms, a free gaming centre, a free cinema and more than 120 restaurants. Changi also has a dedicated snoozing area with loungers.
Each terminal even has a great value transit hotel Located within the Departure Transit Lounge of Singapore Changi Airport. The Ambassador Transit Hotels are equipped with a host of facilities that provide passengers with everything they need to have a comfortable stay. No hassle of Clearing Immigrations and Customs or exiting the departure transit lounge. You have all the convenience of resting and relaxing in between flights with minimum time wasted. The rates are based on a minimum charge of 1 block of 6 hours which costs $75 with a charge of $25 for each additional person. You can extend this on a per hour basis after the first 6 hours for $20 an hour. The saving on time and cost of leaving the airport makes this a very reasonable place to stay.
There are also a number of the restaurants which offer regional food so that if you are in transit you can still get a taste of the local food.
As you would expect after making this such as good airport they would not want to be let down by immigration and customs. The whole process here is an example of how you can have a hassle free and swiftly passed through process.
