Posner Park is located on Highway 27 at the junction with the I4 and just about ten minutes away from our villas. On our last trip over we were looking to up-date some villa furnishings and managed to persuade our teenage girls that a shopping trip was a good idea. This is quite a new development and as such there are some empty units over the two sections. We were dropped off by the men (who chose to go back to the villa for a cold beer instead! ) at the first section, with a request to be collected after a couple of hours – that was a big mistake as by that time we were still in the first shop – Ross! ! We had to contact them and request an extension!
Ross is similar to T. K. Maxx, selling a huge variety of makes of clothing (some designer labels) at greatly reduced prices. Sizing is a mixture of UK and USA so I would recommend trying everything on to be sure. We picked up many items at less than a third of the prices we would have paid in the UK. There are also bargains to be had in the household department and we picked up some lovely new cushions for the villas. Getting two oversized jewelled, outdoor metal lizard ornaments home in the suitcase was not going to be easy though!
From Ross we headed to Michaels Craft outlet. All types of craft are covered and prices are around half they are in England (at most). Those not interested in craft headed next door to Payless shoes where again bargains were available. Next we stopped in at Dollar Time for some snacks and villa supplies and this time the girls found some great little presents for friends.
Passing Target, Dicks and Subway, the teenagers wanted to move onto J. C. Penney. They walked to the second part of the complex but as we passed a Japanese restaurant and bar that was advertising two cold beers for the price of one, the adults couldn’t help but flop down outside for a brief refreshment stop! The beer was good and the menu looked very interesting and reasonable so we made a note to make a return visit.
We followed the girls to JC Penney but with our allotted collection time fast approaching, we only scratched the surface of the store – it is similar to a department style store but they hold a more or less permanent sale - bikinis from just $10 were just too good to resist and we chose new bed linens for our master suite. Teenagers apparently also found bargains in the make up department.
We had to leave then – probably a good job or there wouldn’t have been any room in the suitcases! We definitely have it ear marked for another trip though and this time with no pre-arranged pick up time!
