Pinky's Ice Cream Shop. - Orlando / Florida Guide
Florida Guide > Other Florida
Do you have a sweet tooth? Well if you do then no day at the beach complete without at least one ice cream cone? Then forgo the beach vendor and head to Pinky' s Ice Cream shop instead. Pinky's is located in Indian Rocks Beach and they specialise in Italian home made ice cream. The flavours are all tempting and include Malt Fudge Swirl, Peppermint, Vanilla Peanut Butter, Black Raspberry and my personal favourite, Marti' s Mix which is pecan, peanut butter and brownies, yum!
However, since you are there, why not be really indulgent and have a sundae? You can choose any flavour of ice cream and it is topped with a sauce, nuts, whipped cream and a cherry. I hesitate to describe the next offering and it is too rich for my taste but here goes. "Killer Sundae" has ice cream, hot fudge, marshmallow, caramel, whipped cream and nuts. Oh, and just in case you are not in sugar overload, they throw in a piece of home made fudge.
Sometimes I am more in the mood for a milk shake and you can forget your Maccy D' S ersatz version. These one pint shakes are heavenly and cost less than 4 dollars. Malts your thing? they have them too. I am not finished there either; They specialise in nostalgic hand made sweets. Salt Water Taffy, Gummies, Licorice and more. They have Almond Toffee and Praline as well; I am too frightened of dentists bills to indulge in toffee anymore (shame! ) Chocolate Covered Orange Rings are good and since you are in Florida, Key Lime Coconut Patties fit the bill.
The first time we visited Florida one of the first things I tried was a frozen banana covered in chocolate; Pinky's version currently costs around 3 dollars .
They are proud of their premium fudge and Turtle, Maple Walnut, Vanilla Caramel Swirl and Chocoalte Peanut Butter are all popular. There are sugar free ice creams and candies available if you have a diabetic in your party and also a fat free ice cream for weight watchers. They can supply you with a Jumbo Hot Dog with onions, mustard, ketchup and relish so it could be a good lunch time venue.
The setting is nice with a nostalgic edge and Indian Rocks Beach is a more low key ocean experience than their brasher neighbours.
