Driver Restrictions - Florida and US Car Hire FAQ

Drivers under the age of 25 will be required to pay a surcharge of $20 - $25 per day, payable on collection of the vehicle unless you have chosen our 'Young Drivers Package' with Alamo which allows 3 young drivers with no surcharge on collection.

There is no minimum limit to have held your driving license with Dollar, Alamo and National when booked though our website.

If you are age 21-24 then you can save money on the young drivers surcharge. Doing this, you can have up to 3 drivers age 21-24 plus additional drivers age 25 and over (up to a total of 4 drivers maximum). There will then be no additional surcharges for the young drivers on collection of the car. Without this, each young driver will have to pay $25 + tax per day on collection of the car, so this is a much cheaper way of booking.

To select YDP, click the "Include Young Driver's Package" box on the main quote page. On your quote, only Alamo will be displayed and the price will include the underage surcharge for up to 3 young drivers.

The YDP is only available on the Gold option, so if you chose the Silver option the quote will automatically be updated to the Gold option.

On the booking form, one of the Young Drivers must be named as the lead driver and that driver must have a valid credit card in their name to use as security on collection of the car.

Dollar, Alamo and National allow allow us to take bookings for drivers of any nationality except US or Canadian license holders. If you are a US or Canadian license holder then you can book using the 'domestic' package. Once you select your country of origin in the quote you will be directed automatically to the appropriate package.
